The last post I put up was about three weeks ago. Why the delay?
We came back from Ventura, where we were staying in July. We came back to the start of the school year for four of the kids: one at St. Mary’s High School, and three at Veritas Preparatory Academy. That start-of-the-school-year frenzy is always absorbing.
Plus, we had a daughter preparing to head off to college, starting as a freshman at Thomas Aquinas College (my own alma mater!). So we needed to get her ready, and I wanted to spend time with her. (We went to a pho restaurant over at 32nd Street and Greenway for a farewell meal.)
On top of that, there was a three-day arbitration on the calendar for August 18, 19, and 20, and preparing for and participating in that was demanding.
Now that’s not to say that I wasn’t doing anything else, even if I wasn’t writing on this site.
I managed to get to the movies last week for my daughter’s birthday. We saw the Studio Ghibli film, Princess Nausicaa.
And I started plunging into the world of comprehensible input for Italian. I’ll need to say more about that in a later post. (For now, you can check out Italiano Automatico.)
